This Year In Jerusalem!

What has drawn me back to have extended visits to the Land of Israel for the last 18 years when I feel it was an “accident” that I went there in the first place? The Land calls to me. The sights, sounds, and smells are imprinted on my soul.  Why?  I have no physical explanation. I know not everyone has a desire to visit Israel, but for those of us who have a desire to visit the Land, I can only say that I believe that desire is placed there by God.   In the natural, there is nothing that would call us to this tiny stretch of earth.  And yet, there is something very special about this place.  There is a reason that it is called the Holy Land.

If you are one of those who have that desire to visit Israel, I encourage you to take a step of faith and follow that call.  You will never be the same!  Why or how I cannot explain, but I have witnessed it year after year.  You never read your Bible the same way again — something about seeing where your favourite Bible stories took place makes them come alive like never before. But it also gives you an understanding of what’s happening in the world today which is vital when we see the encroaching darkness come upon the nations. Isaiah 60:1-2

I will be taking a group to Israel September 13th to the 26th 2019 and I have room for more to join us. The land price from Australia is $4,900 AUD and with Flights it is $7,300 AUD.  The cost in USD is $3,500 + flights ($250 USD / $350 AUD late fee for registrations received after May 15, 2019).  Price includes breakfast and dinner daily, all hotels, buses, touring, and tips for guide and driver. Our main tour guide will be a fellow Christian Zionist, the knowledgeable Stan Goodenough,  and we will have a Jewish Guide whilst we visit Judea and Samaria, the Biblical Heartland of Israel. If you are interested in joining us please phone now Trish Cortizo our Travel Agent from Olive Tree Travel on 1300550830 or 0421638453 or email trish@olivetreetravel.com.au or contact Kim from CFOIC Heartland direct on kim@cfoic.com or +719-683-2041.

As you will see from the Tour Brochure  we will have three whole days of meeting the people from the Heartland of Israel, who are fulfilling 3000 year old prophecies written in the Bible – the wonderful men and women who are making the mountains bloom, rebuilding the ancient cities, and filling the streets with children. As you meet them and hear their stories you’ll be encouraged in your own faith, and you’ll have a greater understanding of the challenges they face on a daily basis. We will also be visiting ancient Biblical sites like Hebron, Shiloh and the Mount of Blessing where modern day Jewish communities have been established again.

We will also be visiting the key ANZAC battle sites of WW1, culminating in the unveiling of a Statue at Semakh to acknowledge Aboriginal participation in the Battle that was the beginning of the end for the Ottomans who occupied the Land at that time. Apparently this will be the only Statue on foreign soil to specifically commemorate Aboriginal Servicemen who did not get full citizenship rights in Australia until 1967. In addition we have built into the Tour, visits to key Israeli battle sites both past and current and museums/memorials to their pioneering efforts, in order for you to gain an appreciation of the courage and challenges involved in settling the Land.

I’m truly hoping you can join us for our very inspiring and unique Tour to Israel and I look forward to seeing you there.

An Eye on Zion: Kochav Yaakov

Just over a century later, a group of devout pioneers sharing the same love and passion for the Land of Israel, founded a new community just north of Jerusalem. Drawing their inspiration from Rabbi Yaakov Abuhatzeira, they named it “Abir Yaakov,” the same venerated title that was used to address the late Rabbi during his life. Subsequently renamed “Kochav Yaakov,” (“Star of Jacob”), the community has absorbed many Jews who, like Rabbi Abuhatzeira, left their respective countries of birth to live in the Land of Israel.

The Evil That Surrounds Us

As we watched the return of what we thought were the bodies of four beautiful Israelis, we wept with the families and with all of Israel. Life in a Villa in a Jungle

It is hard to believe that another year has gone by—another year of seemingly unending war, tragedy, loss. There are still 100 hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza. While at least 36 have been murdered, it is not clear how many of the remaining 64 are still alive.

An Eye on Zion: Bet Hagai

On Friday evening of May 2, 1980, a group of students from Nir Yeshiva, located on the outskirts of the Biblical city of Hebron, excitedly headed to the Cave of Machpelah. There, they joyfully welcomed in the Sabbath with uplifting prayers.
That evening, however, terrorists threw grenades and fired bullets in the direction of the students, murdering three of them.
