Ik werd onlangs geinterviewed voor een televisieprogramma op Daystar Television. De interviewer,  mijn vriendJosh Reinstein, wilde zijn kijkers(34 miljoen!) meer laten weten over Judea enSamaria. Het was een geweldige mogelijkheid en ik vond het prachtig om mijn gedachten te delen met zo’n groot publiek.

Het wonderlijke is dat heel veel bijbelgetrouwe christenen niet weten wat Judea enSamariazijn en wat onze aanwezigheid in het Hartland van het BijbelseIsraeleigenlijk betekent. Ze ondersteunen het recht van het Joodse volk om in Israel te wonen en in Judea en Samaria, maar heel veel mensen realiseren zich niet dat als ze het woord ‘nederzetting’ in de media horen of ‘bezet gebied’, deze woorden eigenlijk verwijzen naar het Bijbelse Israel. De taal van de media en van politieke leiders uit de wereld heeft de discussie vergiftigd en het ons moeilijk gemaakt om ons verhaal te vertellen.

Ik voelde me bevoorrecht om de mogelijkheid te krijgen alles nog eens duidelijk te maken gedurende dat korte interview en  het voor kijkers mogelijk te maken om te begrijpen dat het wonen van Joden op de zogenaamde Westelijke Jordaanoever geen probleem is. Het is een zegen! Het is een wonder! Maar het interview duurde maar vijf minuten en ik vraag me nu steeds af of dat genoeg tijd was om een verschil te maken. Natuurlijk, vijf minuten is niet genoeg om jaren van anti-Israel propaganda recht te zetten en miljoenen televisie-uren met een negatieve boodschap. Maar ik hoop en bid dat in ieder geval een aantal van deze kijkers onze website CFOIC.COM zullen bezoeken en meer zullen leren. Dat ze de tijd zullen nemen om na te denken en bij ons werk betrokken willen zijn.

En daarmee komen we bij u. U weet al zoveel overIsrael. U bent onderdeel van een groeiende groep christenen die niet alleen vanIsraelhoudt maar er ook bij betrokken is.

U kunt ons helpen meer mensen te vinden zoals u. Dat is onze grootste uitdaging nu – hen vinden die geinteresseerd zijn in onze boodschap en hen in staat stellen met ons in contact te komen.  Het zou geweldig zijn als u een donatie aan ons kunt overmaken(zie de bijgevoegde strook), maar het zou nog geweldiger zijn als u de namen en adressen zou kunnen geven van mensen die u kent die geinteresseerd zouden kunnen zijn in het werk van CFOIC –Hartland.
