About Kedem Arava

Established in 2017 in the Jordan Valley just north of the Dead Sea, Kedem Arava is a small but growing community of over 60 religious and secular pioneering families. Just east of Jericho and on the border with Jordan, Kedem Arava plays a vital role in securing the eastern portions of the Biblical Heartland. Kedem Arava is also located at the site of Beit HaArava, a kibbutz that was founded in 1939, evacuated during Israel’s War of Independence and reestablished over a decade after the People of Israel liberated the Biblical Heartland in 1967. A harmoniously mixed community of secular and religious pioneers, the residents of Arava have created what they aspire to be a model, from the Biblical Heartland, of mutual love and respect between neighbors.

Raising funds for their security cameras

Kedem Arava, a remote outpost in the Jordan Valley, lies dangerously close to the Jordan River—an active corridor for drug and weapons smuggling. Shockingly, the community currently has no surveillance cameras. With no natural defenses and minimal security infrastructure, Kedem Arava is exposed and desperate for even basic protection. Your gift can help install the community’s first cameras and offer a vital layer of safety for its residents.
