NIEUWS UIT HET HEARTLAND – FEBRUARI 2020

Beste vrienden,

Terug naar routine! Is dat niet hoe je je voelt na de Kerst/Nieuwjaar vakantie? Ik weet hoe ik mij voel als ons Joodse Nieuwjaar en het feest Loofhutten in de herfst voorbij is. Ook al genieten we van de feestdagen, na alle cadeaus, het eten, de speciale gebeden en de familie en vrienden, is het nog steeds goed om terug te gaan naar normaal, terug naar het werk, terug naar rustig.

Hier bij CFOIC Heartland in Israël, zijn we bezig met het contact leggen met de vele gemeenschappen in Judea en Samaria die we vertegenwoordigen, het inzamelen van updates over de projecten die we steunden in 2019, bepalen welke zijn voltooid en welke nog steeds onze hulp nodig hebben in 2020. Deze tijd van het jaar is speciaal voor mij, omdat het me een kans geeft om te beoordelen en te waarderen hoeveel we bereikt hebben – hoeveel u heeft bereikt – door uw donaties aan Cfoic Heartland.

Ik heb warme brieven ontvangen van gemeenschappen die geavanceerde camera-en elektronische systemen konden installeren om hen te waarschuwen voor terroristische infiltraties, om ons te vertellen hoe dankbaar ze zijn en hoeveel veiliger ze voelen. Ik heb telefoontjes ontvangen van de leiders van dorpen die hun dankbaarheid uitspreken voor de hulp die we hen hebben geboden om lopende programma’s voor ouderen, en voor kinderen en programma’s voor jongeren in de knel en een groot aantal andere behoeften mogelijk te maken.

Maar er zijn nog steeds zoveel projecten die we niet konden voltooien in 2019 en die nog steeds wanhopig hulp nodig hebben. En ook nieuwe. Ik kreeg net iemand aan de telefoon die me smeekte om financiering te vinden voor een surveillance drone. En net vorige week kwam er een oproep binnen met de vraag of we erin geslaagd waren om geld in te zamelen om een sociaal centrum voor een geïsoleerde gemeenschap te voltooien.

De behoeften zijn geweldig en schijnbaar nooit eindigend. Maar met uw hulp hebben we een aantal van die behoeften kunnen beantwoorden, wat een echt verschil maakte in het leven van tienduizenden mensen in 2019 en decennia lang. Nu we dit nieuwe jaar verwelkomen, hoop ik dat u alles zult doen wat u kunt om ons werk te ondersteunen en met ons samen te werken, wanneer we ons uitstrekken naar de mensen van Judea en Samaria die uw hulp het meest nodig hebben. Moge G-d u rijkelijk zegenen voor uw geweldige liefde voor mijn volk. U bent echt bijzonder!
