A Visit With Shmuel: Gitit

Join me now, as I enter Gitit…

This month, I took a trip a bit off the beaten path. In fact, a lot off the beaten path. Gitit is located in the foothills of Samaria, just as they begin to rise up from the Jordan Valley. It does not take that long to get there from the nearest community, but it is a community that truly stands alone – not another community in sight once you get to Gitit. So it really takes a special sort of pioneer to live here.

Join me as I visit Gitit and explore the stunning views and the challenges that have faced this community for years. And celebrate with me the recent growth of this community that has truly given the people of Gitit hope for the future. I would love to meet you in person in Gitit but until then, enjoy a virtual tour of Gitit from the comfort of your own home.

God Bless,

Shmuel

With the incredible growth of Gitit in such a short time, there is an urgent need to update and revamp so many of the community facilities that have served the people of Gitit for more than 40 years. Their most urgent need today is the youth center – the existing building cannot be used without serious renovation to make it a safe and useable space. Support the young people of Gitit and enable them to enjoy vital programming in a renewed youth center.
