HEALING LOST BOYS

Aaron sadly grew up in an extremely dysfunctional family. His parents fought incessantly, and consequently, Aaron suffered from terrible neglect. Spiraling out of control emotionally and instinctively not allowing anyone to penetrate the wall of aggression he placed around himself, Aaron eventually turned to crime. Thankfully, Social Services found Aaron and sent him to the Bet Hagai Youth Village where Avichai and Miri Chakak became his loving house parents, giving Aaron, for the first time in his life, a warm, welcoming place to call home!

With hard work and unwavering support from his new family and the teachers and staff at Bet Hagai’s youth village, Aaron acquired a new spirit and outlook on life. Leaving behind his criminal past, Aaron went on to serve in the IDF. After completing his undergraduate studies, Aaron returned to Bet Hagai, this time as a counselor! To this day, Aaron helps guide other boys from dysfunctional families on a new and successful path for life. 

Like Aaron, many of the boys at Bet Hagai’s youth village arrive broken in spirit. However, at the village, they all begin to heal, mentored by rabbis, supported by therapists and loved by their house parents. The Youth Village includes an active farm where the boys learn through work, growing produce and caring for animals, giving them the tools they will need to become productive members of society. CFOIC Heartland donors have played a vital role in giving these boys a fresh start. Today, the Bet Hagai Youth Village needs your help to clothe the boys and to construct a new barn to store feed for sheep at the farm.

  • BIBLICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Hagai is an abbreviation of the names of three young men, Hanan, Gershon and Yaacov, murdered by terrorists in Hebron in 1980

The Bet Hagai Youth Village takes boys from dysfunctional families and transforms them into healthy young men, productive members of society.
